Aloo Posto Recipe | No onion, no garlic curry recipe | Learn how to make no onion no garlic Aloo posto with step-by-step step photos and video. INGREDIENTS

  • 7 to 8 potatoes
  • Mustard oil 6 to 7 tbsp
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Whole garam masala (2 cinnemon sticks, 1 green cardamom, 1 black cardamom, 5 cloves)
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chili powder
  • 2 tomtao puree
  • 4 tbsp poppy seed paste
  • Salt as per your taste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp dry fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 60 to 70 ml water

Aloo Posto Curry Recipe

Peel and wash some potatoes and cut them into medium-sized pieces. Heat some oil and fry the potatoes on high flame until it turns light golden and cooks a bit. Remove it from the oil.

Remove the excess oil and keep only 3 to 4 tbsp oil in a pan. Then add cumin seeds, the whole Garam masala, and kashmiri red chili powder . Mix well and add tomtao puree. Cook it for 3 to 4 minutes on high flame.

Then add salt, turmeric powder, and other masala. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame.

Soak some poppy seeds for 2 to 3 hours. Then, remove the excess water and grind the poppy seeds with some water into a smooth paste. Add poppy seeds paste. Add 3 to 4 tbsp water and mix well. Cook the masala for 10 to 12 minutes on medium flame.

Then, add cooked potatoes and mix well. Add some water.

Cover it and cook it for 10 to 15 minutes. Now, it is ready to serve. Aloo posto is ready.
