This no onion no garlic version is always ideal for vrat or fasting. In India, during festivals, many of them prefer to eat satvik food. Sativk food means a kind of food in which we cannot use onion and garlic. So in today’s recipe, we are not using any onion or garlic, yet it tastes amazing. If you have not tried this yet, you have to give it a try. This paneer masala is a tastier version of satvik food. You can serve this with rice, roti, poori, paratha, or with naan. Or can make this paneer masala for lunch or for dinner.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 to 3 large tbsp of poppy seed
  • 1 tomato puree
  • 3 tbsp ghee/butter
  • 1 black cardamom, 1 green cardamom, 2 to 3 cinnemon sticks, 5 to 6 cloves, 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 to 2 tbsp kashmiri red chili powder
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 1/3 tbsp turmic powder
  • 2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • ½ tbp garam masala powder
  • ½ tbsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp dry fenugreek leaves
  • 400 to500 ml water
  • 250 to 300 grams paneer(cottage cheese)
  • 2 to 3 tbsp cream

How to make no onion no garlic paneer masala?

First, take some poppy seeds and soak them for 2 to 3 hours.

After that, grind them into a fine paste. Add some water and grind the poppy seeds. If you use a wet grinder or mixture grinder.

Now take a pan, add some ghee/butter. Heat it for 15 to 20 seconds on medium flame.

Then turn the flame on low and add all whole spices.

Add Kashmiri red chili powder. Sauté it for 5 seconds.

Then add tomato puree and turn the flame on high.

Cook them for 2 to 3 minutes. Then add salt, turmeric, all powdered spices. Add sugar and dry fenugreek leaves. Mix them well.

Cook them for 3 to 4 minutes on medium to high flame.

After that add poppy seed paste.

Mix well and cook them for 2 to 3 minutes on high flame.

Then cover them and cook them for 7 to 8 minutes on low o medium flame.

After that, again cook them for 2 to 3 minutes on high flame.

When masala is cooked well. Add water.

Again cook them for 15 to 20 minutes on low flame.

Now add paneer cubes.

Add cream and mix well.

Cover them and cook them for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.

Now, it is almost done. For last time, cook them for 3 to 4 minutes on a high flame and turn off the heat. No onion no garlic paneer masala is ready to serve. Serve it with naan, lachha paratha, or roti.
