Yes, we are going to make one of the popular roti from Rajasthan. The name of the Roti is khoba Roti. Khoba roti is made with wheat flour, salt, ajwain, and clarified butter. The ingredients of this roti are very simple and taste yum.

Indian cuisine has a wide variety of flatbread recipes. And each and every single recipe is unique and delicious. You can serve this Roti with pickle, chutney, or curry. Here are some curry recipes that go best with flatbreads.

Ingredients

  • 2 bowl whole wheat flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp ajwain
  • 1 to 2 tbsp ghee/clarified butter
  • water as required for kneading
  • ghee for garnishing

Khoba Roti Recipe Steps

Take a bowl. Add wheat flour. Add some salt and ajwain. Then, add some ghee.

After that we have to pour some water and knead a semi soft dough. Leave the dough for 10 to 15 minutes.

Now, take an orange sized dough. Roll a semi thick roti. It should not be too thin.

Heat a griddle for a minute. Cook the roti for 20 seconds. With the help of the knife, make some cuts on it to prevent puffing the roti. Then remove it from the tawa.

Now we have to make some design over it. You can use the tong or fingers to pinch. Make this design on the cooked side.

Again, cook the roti from both sides until it turns light golden in color. At last, toast them on high flame for 20 to 30 seconds. Now drizzle 1 to 2 tbsp ghee on it and enjoy. Make all of them like this. Serve it with curry or pickle.
