Thandai is the Hindi word that means ‘cool’. Thandai is a refreshing festive drink popular in Indian cuisine and it is served as a bhog on mahasivratri.nIt is also known as shardai. This is one of the famous drinks made during Holi. On Holi, most of them mix the bhang (the leaves of cannabis) in thandai mixes. But this version is totally free from bhang and anyone can drink this. It is best to serve during summers in India. Because it has many health benefits as well. It is a very good and healthy drink for summer.

THANDAI BOMB

First, we have to make thandai milk. Then we need a vanilla sponge cake. You can use any recipe for this cake. Or you can also check some of my cake recipes as well. After that, we need some cream. And we also need a white chocolate dome in which we assemble the layers of this dessert. You can prepare this 2 to 3 days before and store it in the fridge.

INGREDIENTS

for thandai milk

  • 6 to 7 tbsp thandai masala paste
  • 100 to 120 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • A pinch of green food color
  • Some heavy cream/fresh cream

For bomb

  • Vanilla cake (in small circles)
  • White chocolate
  • Food color(pink, yellow, green, blue)

HOW TO MAKE THANDAI BOMB ?

First, take some thandai masala paste. You can check out my thandai recipe for this paste.

Now take a saucepan. Add 40 to 50 ml milk. Add thandai paste. Mix well. Add sugar.

Then cook it for 4 to 5 minutes on medium flame. When it looks thick. Remove 5 to 6 tbsp of thandai puree in a bowl.

Add green food color in this bowl and mix it well.

And add leftover milk into it. Mix well and cook it for 2 minutes. Now leave it to cool down.

Now take some white chocolate in two bowls. Melt the chocolate on the double boiling method. Now add food colors to the chocolate.

With the help of a paintbrush. Make some strokes with different colors.

Now pour 1 tbsp melted white chocolate over it and spread it evenly. Remove the excess chocolate. Now leave it to set. It takes 5 to 10 minutes in the fridge.

Now take some whipped cream. Add thandai mix. mix well. Thandai cream is ready.

After that unmold it carefully from the mold.

Chocolate spheres are ready.

Now take a chocolate sphere. Place a cake in it.

Add thandai milk. Then pipe some thandai cream.

YOU can also make some small and big holes in it to look more beautiful.

Then over it with another chocolate sphere. First, melt the chocolate sphere a bit on any warm plate. Then place it over and seal it evenly. Make all of them like this. Thandai bomb is ready. Enjoy your Holi with the color of this colorful thandai bomb.
