Til ki chikki | sesame bar recipe with detailed photos and steps. Now you can also visit my youtube channel for the recipe video.
Til chikki is a flavourful chikki/bar which is made with dry roasted sesame seeds and melted jaggery. Melted jaggery is used for combining the sesame seeds. You can shape them as you like. I follow the square bars because it is very easy to handle. When the jaggery syrup is done then we need to work fast with that. Otherwise, it starts to harden. And then we can’t work with that.

How to make til ki chikki?
First take some white sesame seeds and dry roast them.
When it looks golden in color. Turn off the heat. Do not burn them because it is very sensitive. Keep stirring on medium to low flame.
Take some jaggery, cut into pieces. Or you can use any type of jaggery.
Add some water into pan.
Add jaggery and cook no medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes.
Until the small bubbles forms. Like this.
Then, take some water and pour a few drops of jaggery syrup. It has to form a hard shape and cut with a snap sound. If not, then boil for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Now pour the sesame seeds and mix it quickly.
Grease the surface with some oil. Also grease the rolling pin. Pour the mixture over it.
Roll it with a rolling pin. It can be thin or thick. You can adjust the thickness of these bars. While it is hot, mark with the knife and leave it to cool down.
Now, break it into pieces and keep it in an airtight container. You can store it for 2 to 3 weeks.
