Shakrori Recipe | Mithila Special recipe | Boondi kheer | Hello everyone, today I am going to share a recipe that is the most popular mithila dish named shakrori. Shakrori is a dessert cum drink recipe made with milk, small gram flour puffs (called boondi), sugar, and some nuts.

Boondi is made with besan and deep-fried puffs. You can easily buy them from the sweet store or from the store. This is also known as Boondi kheer.

Traditionally, shakrori is made on weeding feasts. And it tastes so yum that you can not control yourself to drink a full glass. Yes, this is served in a glass, but you can also serve this in a bowl. So let’s make this…

INGREDIENTS

  • 700 to 800 ml milk
  • saffron
  • a pinch of cardamom
  • 3 to 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 bowl Boondi
  • Some chopped nuts(almonds, cashews, Pista, raisins)

Shakrori Recipe from Mithila

Take 800 ml full fat milk. Add saffron and cardamom. Cook them for 5 to 10 minutes.

Add chopped nuts as per your choice. Then add Boondi. Mix well and cook it for 15 to 20 minutes on medium flame.

When it looks well combined( just like kheer), add sugar and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes. Turn off the heat. Now, keep this in the fridge. Shakrori is ready to serve. You can also make this boondi kheer as a prasad on janamashtami.
