Kesar Elaichi Chai Recipe | How to make tandoori chai at home | Tandoori chai is one of the most popular street-style chai sold at street stalls. Tandoori chai is your old masala Chai. Just the best part is that we prepared this Chai in a hot kulhar(Clay pot).

It is very easy to make at home as well. It is a great beverage to enjo in rainy days or cold days.

About Tandoori Chai

Tandoori chai is traditionally made by warming the Clay pots in the tandoor until they become red hot. Then we pour the prepared tea in these hot kulhars. Once the tea poured in hot kulhar, tea forths like a volcano and the chai infuses the flavours of the hot clay pot.

Ingredients

  • 2 cardamom pods
  • a pinch of Saffron
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp tea leaves (you can use any tea leaves)
  • 1 and a half cup of milk
  • 2 to 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 Clay pot

Method

First, crush some cardamom and Saffron.

Then take a pot. Boil a cup of water. Add crushed cardamom and Saffron. Then add tea leaves and boil the mix for 2 minutes on high flame.

Then add milk and sugar. Now boil the chai for 4 to 5 minutes on medium flame.

Now take a Clay pot and heat it on high flame for 2 to 3 minutes from each sides. Then place this hot clay pot in a large bowl or plate. And pour the chai immediately. Once the chai forths like this. Remove it from the hot clay pot after a minutes and serve it in another cup.
